Introduction
Victoria Hotel provides bed and breakfast accommodation and tearooms in the centre of Church Stretton, Shropshire. The property is a Victorian town house and therefore restricted for access for some visitors, however, we do our up most to provide help if at all possible.
Pre-Arrival

• We are situated in the centre of Church Stretton and within 20 yards of the main Church Stretton car park and supermarket. A public house and restaurant are literary yards away from our door
• The nearest disabled toilets are situated with the aforementioned car park
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
• The main Church Stretton car park is 20 yards away from Victoria Hotel, we have purchased car park passes for sole use of our guests. (4 in summer months, 3 in winter months). Guests can park outside to unload on High Street and we will gladly assist with luggage and persons if required.
• There are 2 steps at the entrance to the property (both side and front), unfortunately it is not possible to have ramps over these steps in view of the nature of the building. Steps to the front of the property - 3.5" and 4.75" and to the side 6" then 7" in depth. The High street is tarmac and so are the pavements. The entrance to Victoria Hotel is paved brick and is covered and lit during the evening.

Main Entrance & Reception
• The man entrance to Victoria Hotel is via the side passageway which is bricked. The alternative is to the front of the property (on High Street) via the shop door. Both entrances gain entry to the property over 2 steps. The steps to the side passage have a depth of 6" and then 7".
• The step to the front of the property has a step depth of 3.5" and then 4.75".
• The main entrance hall and reception is Victorian tiled floor with wallpapered walls
• We have music playing during shop opening times - 2pm to 6pm Saturday and Sunday and have local or classic FM radio playing during breakfast. This can be turned down or off on request
• There are always pens and paper available on reception desk
• Lighting in the hallway/reception is electric - ceiling and desk lamp, the room is fairly dim due to the construction of the building. Floor level once in reception area is level, however there are two quite deep steps to negotiate into the breakfast room. (8" and then 9.5") The only way to the second level (Guests bedrooms) is via the staircase. Assistance can be given if required.
• As we are only a small bed and breakfast the reception area is not manned 24 hours, however we have a contact number 24 hours a day should guests have any problems. We have an alarm bell which is situated next to the fire bell on the guests bedroom level should guests need our attention also.
• We have seating on ground level in the guests lounge.
Public Areas - General (Internal)
• The reception/ guests lounge area is on the same level - tiled floor leading to polished wooden floor boards with rug over. The breakfast room is down two quite deep steps. (8" then 7.5"). The only access to guest’s bedrooms is via the staircase which is carpeted, this does have a banister, assistance can be given.
• Lighting in reception/hallway is dim due to nature of building but the guests lounge and breakfast room has large windows with plenty of natural light as well as ceiling lights and side lamps
Public Areas - WC
• Teashop guests can use the toilet which is also the shower room for one of the guest’s bedrooms. This is accessible only via the staircase. There is only one toilet and therefore is unisex.
• The fire alarm is situated on the second floor and is manually operated, signs are clearly marked indicating evacuation down the stair case and onto High Street via the side passage way.

• The breakfast room has plenty of natural light having a full size shop front window, also overhead ceiling lighting. We have 2 large tables to seat 4 and 2 small tables to seat 2. All tables are antique and not uniform in size, are polished as are the chairs.
• We are non-smoking and do cater for dietary requirements whenever possible. We are looking into have a copy of the tea room menu and our guests room folder in Braille
• We serve guests teas/coffees cakes and breakfasts. Guests serve themselves to cereals, yogurts and juice etc. Assistance can be given of course

Bedrooms
• Unfortunately Victoria Hotel is not suitable for wheelchair users as we do not have any ground level bedrooms. However many guests who use walking sticks have easily managed the first flight of stairs to the guests bedrooms.
• In the event of an emergency guests are aware of the fire bell (hand operated) also smoke detectors situated in each bedroom, landing and public areas
• We have TVs in each room but until they are updated do not have remotes or teletext
• This is a Victorian property with many of the original features doors, flooring, fire places etc. 2 bedrooms have carpet, 2 have polished floorboards with rugs over. Lighting is via main ceiling and each bedroom has reading lamps to each bedside.
• We have one twin, one double, one king size and one 3/4 bed, all are antique and therefore not uniform. All bedrooms are situated on the first floor which is only accessible via the staircase
• Each bedroom has a different colour scheme.
• "Blue room" cream walls with blue curtains, cushions and bed cover with a blue rug over the original polished floorboards.
• "Green room" dark green wallpapered walls, carpeted with fireside rug. Green curtains, cushions and bed cover.
• "Garden room" Beige/sand covered painted walls, gold and cream curtains. Carpeted floor also room size rug in multi colours.
• "Church room" Beige/sand covered painted walls, cream and green curtains and blinds, cream and multi coloured bed cover.
• Each room has a kettle - none of which are cordless.
• Each bed is furnished with non-allergic bedding, non-smoking and pet free (other than blind/hearing dogs) we are looking into providing Braille room information folders.
• We can provide a small fridge for guests to store drugs/insulin.
• Teas/coffees/water are available in each room however we can supply soya, goats or fresh milk on request
Bathroom, Shower-room & WC [Ensuite or Shared]
• 3 out of our 4 bedrooms are ensuite. Each bathroom has tiled surfaces, provides a bath mat and/or non-slip shower mat. They are all individually furnished, all have completely tiled walls and floors.
• "Church room ensuite" corner shower 86cm by 86cm with a 24cm depth of step into it. Glass panelled sliding doors. Tiled in white, with dark green/grey floor tiles, green towels
• "Shower room (separate shower room exclusive to the Blue Room) also toilet for tea shop users. Square shower tray 72cm x 72cm with a depth to enter it of 18cm. Hinged glass paneled door. Tiled in grey and white with contrasting deep red towels
• "Green room" ensuite bathroom. Corner bath 130cm x 130cm with a depth to enter it of 54cm Tiled in grey and white with contrasting deep red towels
• "Church room" shower ensuite. Tiled in beige, a high step into small shower enclosure. Glass panelled concertina door.
