Flash is the industry standard software program used by most website designers and allows you to include interactivity, animation, video & motion into your websites.

The main problem that can arise with Flash based websites is that they can be difficult to get ranked in the search engines because the spiders can't read Flash commands and can't properly follow Flash navigation and links.

Another consideration is the download time. The bigger the Flash animation the longer it takes to download.

You may find that a small animated graphic is more appropriate for your website than a fully designed Flash site.

One issue to bear in mind is the website visitor who arrives at your Flash based site. They may or may not have the appropriate player installed on their computer to play the Flash movie.

Many websites rely on Flash being available by default on your browser and will not always check if you have disabled it.

Having said that, Flash is an extremely attractive way to build a site and depending on what your intention is with your website will depend on whether or not its suitable.
